Usually it take 8-10 sessions for complete removal of the tattoo over a course of few months.
In most cases tattoo is removed completely but there are few chances of ghost image leaving behind which goes away naturally with time. While 100% results are not guaranteed.
Laser passes through the skin and breaks the tattoo’s color into microscopic fragments. These fragments get absorbed by the body and are passed out. This doesn’t cause any harm over the body.
Permanent ink removal depends on the color used in the tattoo and size of the tattoo. Black and red ink get removed way faster while lighter colors are difficult to remove in first few session but they eventually get eradicated by the end of the treatment. Ink quality also affect the results. Also, bigger the tattoo more time it will take to remove. Location and skin type may also affect the results.
We use FDA approved top-grade StarWalker® MaQX Q-Switched laser for tattoo removal. It has ASP (Adaptive Structured Pulse) technology which ensures extreme safety and great efficacy in the treatments.
The laser beams feel like thin rubber band being snapped on your skin so it doesn’t hurt as much as getting the tattoo must have caused. If you need technician will apply a cream prior beginning the treatment which numbs the skin to be treated.
No major side effects are seen during the course of the treatment or after. Your skin might get redness or small blisters because of the heat generated from laser beams which heal with in few days after the session. Applying moisturizer or dermatologist tested cream is suggested to stop the itching and redness. There is a rare chance of scarring with our laser.
One session of the treatment usually lasts from half an hour to one hour usually depending on the size of the tattoo.
Make sure you remove the hairs around and on the tattoo 24 hours prior to your scheduled session. Also, avoid exfoliation or use of any harsh products. Post treatment precautions are extremely important to follow such as avoiding tanning or excessive heat on that location, covering the area in the sunlight and applying sunscreen. Also, try to avoid washing the treated area with soap or hot water.
